Connor's Pushers make it round the 26.2 mile marathon course

Derry man Connor Smyth and his group of pushers have raised £1,200 for charity.

On Sunday at the Walled City Marathon the team pushed Connor round the 26.2 mile course in temperatures above 26 degrees. Connor revealed how he wanted to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK in memory of Evan McGrotty who died at the Buncrana pier tragedy earlier this year.

“Thanks to Foyle Taxis for the T-Shirts,” said Connor. “I had 26 volunteers, one for each mile, but even more turned up. I’ve always wanted to do a marathon but didn’t think I ever would. It was 26 miles of craic.”
