Contestants sought for '˜Take Me Out' fundraiser for Troubles support group

Sixteen ladies and eight men are being sought for a fun, '˜Take Me Out,' fundraising event for the WAVE Trauma Centre in the Maldron Hotel this Saturday, October 8.

WAVE, which provides support, counselling and complementary therapy to victims of the Troubles from its city centre offices at the corner of Palace Street and Bishop Street, has organised the event as part of its 25th birthday celebrations.

Project manager, Johann Coyle, said: “We are holding a number of special fundraising events in the forthcoming months to celebrate 25 years of service to the community.

“The WAVE Derry/Londonderry centre is holding an adaption of the ‘Take Me Out” dating programme, which will be hosted by ‘Dale T’ at The Maldron Hotel on October 8. “Doors open at 8.30 pm.

“If any one would like to join in on the fun by being part of the audience or participating as one of the 16 lucky ladies or eight men, get in touch.

“It is a night for people to enjoy and have fun whilst helping raise valuable and needed funds for our centre.”

Funds raised will help WAVE continue its programme of vital support for survivors of the Troubles.

Services available from the WAVE Trauma Centre, include; outreach support, BACP accredited trauma counselling service, complementary therapies, peer group support initiatives, arts, crafts and personal development programmes, welfare advice and advocacy services.
