An award-winning business started by a woman from Limavady and her husband, will be featured on RTE’s ‘Ear To The Ground.’

The show puts the spotlight on home-based start-up business, Clew Bay Cookies.

The sweet treat business was started by Lisa McCann (nee Newsome) from Roemill Gardens in Limavady, and her husband, James, from Michigan, America.

The couple and their sons, Joseph (13) and Kevin (12), moved back to the West of Ireland from America to Louisburgh in Mayo, where their food journey started. It took off when the baked their family recipe, a tasteful blend of their family cultures from Michigan and Ireland for their 10-year-old son’s birthday to be shared with his team at Louisburgh GAA pitch one Saturday morning.

Lisa and James recently won gold in the Sweet Biscuit and Snack Category at Blas Na hEireann Irish Food Awards the largest competition for quality Irish produce on the Island of Ireland held in Dingle last October for their artisan chocolate chip cookies.

It’s seen as a huge achievement as judges come from a range of food backgrounds: chefs, restaurateurs, academics, journalists, authors, food champions, caterers and enthusiastic home cooks.

The much-loved family recipe was a success and now you can find their cookies at various outlets throughout Ireland. James and Lisa with their sons will appear on RTE One Ear to the Ground 15th December 2016 at 8.30 pm.
