Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that Derry City Council is to carry out temporary emergency repairs to a perimeter fence around a septic tank in Killea.
Colr. Cooper said that he had been contacted by local residents from the area about the the collapse of a fence close to a nearby septic tank and went on to praise Derry City Council for their decision to repair the fence.
“Local residents contacted me with concerns following the collapse of the fence around this septic tank which has been located there for many years.
“There is obviously health and safety concerns that young people could gain access to this site.”
Colr. Cooper confirmed that the repair work to the fence would be carried out by Derry City Council officials over the next few days.
“I am glad to get confirmation from Derry City Council that they are to carry out temporary emergency repairs to the perimeter fence in the next few days,” said Colr. Cooper.
