Countdown begins for Club MTV Derry

The countdown is now on for the thousands heading to Club MTV in Derry next weekend, with some of the hottest talent on today's music scene booked for the event.

Derry bound: DJ Martin Garrix

The man tipped to be named the 2016 best DJ on the planet, Dutch superstar DJ and producer Martin Garrix, will be manning the decks as headliner at the outdoor gig at Ebrington Square next Saturday, September 10.

An estimated 12,000 people are expected to attend the event, with thousands more to attend the Party In the Square on Sunday, September 11, also at Ebrington.

Club MTV Derry is returning to Derry for a third year, with the ‘Don’t Look Down’ hitmaker in tow along with Example, Junior J and Club MTV residents R3WIRE & Varski with us.

Garrix has become one of electronic dance music’s youngest superstars, amassing a chart-topping, high-streaming musical legacy along the way.

Garrix arrival in Derry will cap a year of highs, with loads of fresh new tracks released and a packed summer festival diary.

Club MTV favourite Example will be on the bill, while Northern Irish native Junior J will also be entertaining the crowds.

Over the past two years, Club MTV Derry has seen some of the biggest dance stars in the world arrive in Derry, including Galantis, Chase & Status, Nervo and Sigma.

General tickets are priced at £27.50 each, or £38 for VIP Tent tickets and £25.50 for wheelchair tickets.

The Party in the Square at Ebrington meanwhile will get under way at 4pm on Sunday.

The event will feature six live acts including Abba tribute band Abbaesque, Adele tribute Act Someone Like You and Garth Brooks tribute artist Jason Hughes.

Lee Matthews, Ritchie Remo and the Motown Brothers will complete the line up.
