It was revealed the other woman provoked the defendant, who then used ‘sustained physical violence’.
Francis was arrested and was found to be heavily intoxicated, in breach of bail conditions.
An investigating officer told the court police have ‘strong objections’ to bail because they believe the 24-year-old will commit further offences.

She added that she is also under investigation for an alleged assault involving a hammer.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott told the court his client is willing to admit the disorderly behaviour charge.
He added Francis has not breached bail since May and the conditions have ‘curbed her behaviour and drinking’.
District Judge Barney McElholm granted bail and warned Francis ‘this is her final chance’.
The 23-year-old will appear in court again on October 26.
