28-year-old hit fiancé

A woman who assaulted her fiancé has been given a conditional discharge for 18 months.

Deborah Wade, of Bradley Park, pleaded guilty to common assault on July 23, last year.

Derry Magistrates Court heard the 28-year-old and her fiancé had an argument and she punched him to the face several times.

Police were called and Wade told the officers ‘I did hit him, he is a scumbag’.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said his client has no previous convictions and is still in a relationship with the injured party.
