A 47-year-old man has appeared in court accused of a domestic assault.
Richard McConnell, of Malin Gardens, is charged with common assault and criminal damage on December 8.
An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court he believed he could connect McConnell to the charges.
The court heard allegations there was a domestic violence history between the parties.
However, the defendant did not have any previous convictions.
It was also revealed the complainant was refusing to sign her police statement but there might be body worn camera footage.
The officer told the court there was no objection to bail with a number of conditions.
McConnell was released on his own bail of £250, banned from contacting the alleged injured party and entering the area where she lives. He will appear in court again on January 14.
