A woman has been remanded in custody after breaching her bail conditions twice in less than a week.

Sharon Campbell, who is accused of attacking her partner with a broken bottle, was remanded in custody on Christmas day for breaching her bail conditions but was released on New Years Eve by the High Court.

Campbell, of Lawrence Hill, is charged with grievous bodily harm with intent on November 12.

Derry Magistrates Court heard the 36-year-old breached her conditions twice in the last five days.

On Saturday night she phoned the police when she was ‘highly intoxicated’ in breach of an alcohol ban. A breath test gave a reading of 131mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Defence solicitor Maeliosa Barr said his client has mental health difficulties and alcohol issues.

Refusing bail, District Judge Barney McElholm said the court ‘can’t keep turning a blind eye to these breaches’.

Campbell was remanded in custody until Thursday.
