Assault victim has nose, jaw and eye socket broken

A man has had his jaw, nose and eye socket broken in an assault in Derry.

Police today released details of the assault and said the man was found injured in the city centre shortly before 4am last Sunday, June 30.

“An ambulance crew picked up the man at Waterloo Place however it is not clear if that is where he was attacked.

“The man was left with head injuries including a broken nose, jaw and eye socket. Anyone who was in the area of Waterloo Place around that time and could help police with their inquiries is asked to telephone Strand Road CID on 0845 600 8000,” a PSNI spokeswoman said.
