Police in Derry have appealed for information after a car was stolen and set on fire in the city earlier this week.

In the early hours of Monday past, an intruder stole the keys of a car from a house at Sheelin Park in the Ballymagroarty area. A white Mitsubishi ASX was stolen from the address. It was later found on fire at Glassagh Road, Creggan shortly before 7.30 the same day. The car was destroyed in the blaze.

Police attending the scene arrested three youths who were later released on bail.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who saw the car being stolen, driven or abandoned. Information can be given to the CID at Strand Road by telephoning the 101 non-emergency number. Alternatively, it can be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
