Community service for drugs offences

A 34-year-old Limavady man was sentenced to complete 100 hours of community service for being in possession of drugs.

Gerald Moore of Sperrin Road appeared at Limavady Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to possession of Class B drugs, cannabis and mephedrone, on on July 10.

The court heard police found the drugs during a search of Moore’s address. Moore told police the drugs were for his own personal use.

District Judge Liam McNally told Moore if he keeps consuming and being in possession of illegal drugs he would end up with a custodial sentence.
