Derry Court: Man admits hi-jacking car from pensioner


A 22-year-old man has admitted hijacking a car from a pensioner.

Derek William Creswell, whose address we given on court papers as Firmount Drive, Antrim, pleaded guilty to a further charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charges relate to an incident in the Bonds Hill area of the Waterside on December 23, 2013.

A further charge of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a potato peeler was left on the books.

Sentencing was adjourned for a probation pre-sentence report to be compiled.

Creswell was remanded in custody to appear at the crown court again on March 10.
