Derry Court: Man denies cruelty and indecent assault charges


A 60-year-old man has denied a string of child cruelty and indecent assault charges.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged injured party’s, pleaded not guilty to three charges of child cruelty and six charges of indecent assault.

He also denied attempted rape and common assault.

The offences were allegedly committed between May 1979 and March 1994.

There are three complainants in the case and the court was told they are family members.

A trial, which is expected to last one week, has been listed on February 23.

The man was released on continuing bail.
