Derry Court: Suspended sentence for laptop thief

A man who stole a laptop belonging to a photographer from a church during a wedding has received a suspended sentence at Derry Magistrate’s Court.

Justin McCabe (43) whose address was given as 11, Long Tower Court in Derry admitted stealing the laptop, the theft of items from Poundland and being disorderly in Derry City Centre on May 5 this year.

A defence barrister Mr. Stephen Chapman told the court that his client was currently resident in Belfast.

District Judge Barney McElholm asked would McCabe promise to stay there.

McCabe was given an eight month sentence suspended for three years.
