A man who was abusive to police has been fined at the local magistrates court.
Lee Darren Brady, of Maybrook Park, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on April 20.
The court heard police were on patrol in Market Street in the early hours of the morning and saw Brady make a ‘throwing gesture’ towards their car.
Officers spoke to him and he became abusive telling them to ‘f*** off’.
The 25-year-old was warned about his behaviour but he continued to be abusive and was arrested.
Brady also provided false details to the police.
Defence counsel Nicola Coulter told the court her client had consumed a large amount of alcohol on this night.
She said Brady knows his actions are stupid and ‘extremely juvenile’.
District Judge Peter King fined the 25-year-old £200.
