Disqualified driver to pay fines

A judge has said that ‘respect for the court has to exist in society’ or it will be ‘anarchy and chaos’.

District Judge Barney McElholm made the comment as 23-year-old Danielle Mullally appeared at the local magistrates court.

Mullally, of Glendale Park, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance on March 23.

Judge McElholm heard that she has outstanding fines to be paid.

The judge said he is regularly jailing people for non-payment of fines and deferred sentencing until February.
