Ciaran Brown, whose address was given on court papers as Kavanagh Court, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on December 14, last year.
Derry Magistrates Court heard the 31-year-old was in the Shipquay Street area in the early hours of the morning.
He was drunk, shouting ‘up the Ra’ and making other references to provos.
Police spoke to Brown about his behaviour and he told an officer to ‘f*** off orange b******’.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley told the court his client had not consumed alcohol for some time before this night, however he was encouraged to have a drink and couldn’t stop.
The solicitor said Brown ‘entirely blacked out and can’t remember what happened’.
District Judge Barney McElholm fined the 31-year-old £300.
