A local councillor has denied disorderly behaviour in the Creggan area of the city.
Gary Donnelly, an independent councillor on the Derry and Strabane District Council, denied a further charge of obstructing police.
The charges relate to an alleged incident in Ballymagowan Avenue on October 16, last year.
The 45-year-old, of Iniscarn Road, was not present in court for the brief hearing.
However, his defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott told the court his client is contesting the charges.
The case will be mentioned again on April 13.
