A preliminary hearing in relation to the inquest into the death of Castlederg teen Arlene Arkinson, who went missing in 1994, is set to take place in Belfast next week.

In 2005, child killer Robert Howard was acquitted of the teenager’s murder but the jury was unaware he had a history of sex attacks and that two years earlier he had been found guilty of murdering Hannah Williams, 14, in south London.

The inquest into Arlene’s death was first ordered in 2007. The full hearing is scheduled to begin in April of this year.

Friday’s preliminary hearing will be held at Mays Chambers in Belfast.
