The mother of a man murdered in Inishowen three years ago has urged anyone with information to “please help.”
Donna Smith, the mother of Andrew Allen, was spoke to the ‘Journal’ yesterday on the third anniversary of her son’s death.
The 24-year-old Derry man was shot dead at a house in Links View Park, Lisfannon on February 9, 2012. No-one has been charged in connection his death.
Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD) claimed responsibility for the father-of-two’s murder.
Donna Smith told how dealing with her son’s death doesn’t get any easier with the passing years. She said: “Three years on and it’s getting harder every day to know we’ll never see Andrew again. People tell us it will get easier. It doesn’t. We just have to learn to live with it and try to stay strong every day.”
She continued: “To us, those who murdered Andrew are cowards - murdering him in the dark of night, through a window.
“They are just heartless, cruel men who murder, hiding behind the name of being republican. We are asking, if anybody knows anything, please help, before it’s your family left grieving for a loved one murdered so brutally.”
