Limavady man accused of Twelfth parade disorderly

Kyle Moore, of Coolessan Walk, is charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting police on July 12.

The 23-year-old was on bail accused of other offences at the time of the alleged incident.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard that police were conducting duties during the Twelfth ‘celebrations’ in Limavady when their attention was drawn to Moore.

He was intoxicated and appeared to be agitated.

Police asked him to leave the area on a number of occasions.

Officers became aware the 23-year-old was subject to a number of bail conditions including a ban on consuming alcohol.

Moore was arrested and it is alleged he became abusive towards police, calling them ‘scumbags’.

He was further accused of giving abuse to other members of the public.

Opposing bail, an investigating officer told the court police had concerns Moore continued to commit offences while on bail.

Defence solicitor Don Mahoney said his client has been on bail for several months and up until recently had ‘behaved impeccably’.

Refusing bail, District Judge John Meehan said Moore had ‘flagrantly’ breached conditions in the past and there was a risk of further offences.

The defendant will appear in court again via videolink on July 28.
