Male prisoner dies in Maghaberry
A male prisoner has died while in custody in Maghaberry prison, the Northern Ireland Prison Service has confirmed.
The 24 year-old man died in hospital on Friday evening.
The man’s next of kin have been informed.
As with standard procedure, the PSNI and Prisoner Ombudsman have been informed.
Ronnie Armour, Director General of the Northern Ireland Prison Service said: "I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of the prisoner. My thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
