A 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to assaulting two doctors and two nurses.

Liam Harkin, of John Street, admitted a further charge of disorderly behaviour.

The charges relate to an incident in Altnagelvin Hospital on October 7.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard there is CCTV of the incident which would have to be played before sentencing.

Harkin has a criminal record.

Sentencing was adjourned for a probation pre-sentence report to be compiled.

District Judge Peter King said it is ‘quite appropriate’ for the footage to be viewed ‘given the nature of the incidents’.

Harkin was remanded in custody to appear in court again on January 14.
