A 28-year-old man has admitted raping and assaulting a woman.
Joseph Martin Healy, whose address was given on court papers as no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to two charges of rape.
He also admitted six charges of assaulting the woman.
The offences were committed between February and August 2013.
The 28-year-old initially denied a total of 20 charges.
However, after a jury was sworn to try the case at Derry Crown Court , Healy applied to be re-arraigned.
The remaining charges were left on the books not to be proceeded with without the leave of the crown court or the Court of Appeal.
Judge Philip Babington adjourned sentencing for a Probation Pre-Sentence Report to be compiled.
Healy was remanded in custody to appear in court again on June 29.
