Man arrested after car hits fence and goes on fire

An 18 year-old man was arrested close to the scene of a burning car this morning.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which took place shortly before 5.20am in the Whitehouse Road area.

It is believed the vehicle, a blue Renault Megane, mounted a kerb and struck a fence in the Whitehouse Road area before going on fire.

The car is believed to have been stolen from Glenvale Park.

The man, who was arrested in connection to the incident near the Ringfort Road, is currently helping police with their enquireies.
