The PSNI has confirmed that a man in his 20s has died as the result of a road accident this morning.
The incident took place at Longland Road in Donemana at around 7.20am. A silver Peugeot in which he was travelling struck a bridge in the area.
PSNI Inspector Ray Wilson said: “Another male who was also in the car was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
“The occupants of a blue Transit van aldso travelling on the raod at the time were not injured.
“I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling on the Longland Road this morning to get in touch. Please call 101 quoting reference 204 22/07/16.”
The Longland Road remains closed between Cumber and Ballarton Road.
