Man fined after he drove without due care and attention

A Limavady man who was convicted of having drove without due care and attention has been fined £200 at the local Magistrates court.

Steven Alexander O’Kane was sentenced at Limavady Magistrates Court last Wednesday for the offence committed on the Greystone Road in the town.

The court heard on December 22 last year police were in Limavady town.

At 12.30am they were alerted to an incident near or about the Scroggy Road roundabout, a prosecutor told the court.

The court heard there were no injuries and the defendant, who is a taxi driver, was spoken to.

Deputy District Judge Brian Archer fined O’Kane £100 for the offence. Three penalty points were also imposed on O’Kane’s driving licence.

O’Kane was also ordered to pay an offenders levy of £15.
