A 49-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a historic sex offence.
John Gerald Fox, of The Crescent, faces two charges of indecent assault on a female.
The offences were allegedly committed between March 1 and May 31, 1986.
During a brief hearing at Derry Magistrates Court, Fox confirmed he was aware of the charges against him.
He declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence on his own behalf.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley accepted there is a case for his client to answer.
Fox was released on his own bail of £500 and banned from having any contact with the alleged injured party.
He will appear at the crown court for arraignment on November 12.
