Man returned to trial over theft accusation


A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges relating to the theft of £10,000 from a furniture company.

Jason Craig (42) of 60b Craigbrack Road in Eglinton appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate’s Court.

He was charged with the theft of £10,402 from DFS furniture between June 1 2013 and June 23 2014.

He was also charged with fraud by abuse of position on the same dates.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and Craig said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

He was released on bail and returned for trial to the Crown Court sitting on April 17.
