Man said he'd cut policemen's faces and wear them as a mask

Brian O’Hagan of Irwin Avenue, Limavady had been due to have an electronic tag put on him on July 24. However when G4S arrived at his bail address they were told he was not there and the bail address had not been agreed.

On July 30, police were contacted by a woman who claimed O’Hagan had been to her house. There had been an argument and O’Hagan had allegedly kicked her twice in the stomach.

The court heard that the woman had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance and had suffered bad muscular bruising.

The defendant was found in the roof space of a house, however when police arrived he became aggressive.

He told police he would cut their face up and use it as a mask.

During interview O’Hagan admitted that he had kicked the woman once but said that it was because she had punched him in the face.

O’Hagan’s solicitor said his client now has a new address in Derry.

He told the court that the injured party had sent a text message to his client to come and see her.

Deputy district judge Ted McGill told O’Hagan he was not a suitable candidate for bail but advised him he could apply to the High court.

O’Hagan is due back in court on August 22.
