A man who admitted possessing cannabis, diazepam and temazepam has received a suspended sentence.
Ruaira McGilloway, of Heron Way, pleaded guilty to possessing the class B and C drugs on December 20 last year.
Derry Magistrates Court heard that police searched the 29-year-old’s home and found deal bags containing the drugs.
Defence solicitor Paddy McDaid said his client was abusing substances ‘quite badly’ at this time.
Suspending a four month sentence for two years, District Judge Barney McElholm also fined McGilloway £450.
