A man has been shot in Derry.

Police say the 20 year old was shot in one knee at around 11pm last night at a house in the Osborne Street area of the city.

Another man and woman were held at gunpoint in a downstairs room of the house.

“A gang of three men are thought to have been involved in the incident at about 11pm,” a PSNI spokesman said.

“They broke into a house and two of them ran upstairs where they shot a man in his right knee. He was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital.

“Another man and a woman who were also present in the house at the time were held at gunpoint in a downstairs room by one of the gang.”
