Man who burned Envy to the ground jailed for five years

A man has been jailed for five years for burning a Derry nightclub to the ground two-and-a-half years ago.

Detectives from Strand Road have welcomed the sentence handed down to 24-year-old man Sebastian Prokop for committing arson at Envy, on the Strand Road on January 9, 2020.

Prokop was convicted earlier this year.

Today, Wednesday, August 24, Prokop received a five-year sentence - half to be served in custody and half on licence.

Envy nightclub premises in Derry city centre destroyed by fire

Envy was demolished shortly after the fire due to the extent of the damage.
