Two men have appeared in court accused of disorderly behaviour during the Olympic torch relay in the city.

Shaun Anthony McIntyre (38), of Rinmore Drive and 27-year-old Eamon Barry Millar, of Rafferty Close, are jointly charged with disorderly behaviour on June 4.

Millar is further charged with assaulting police.

The charges relate to an alleged incident as the Olympic torch relay made its way along the Foyle Embankment on June 4.

A third man, 51-year-old James Anthony Kelly, of Rathkeele Way, has already appeared in court accused of similar offences.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court he believed he could connect McIntyre and Millar to the charges.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said all three defendants were denying the charges.

They were released on continuing bail and the case will be mentioned again on September 27.
