Police appeal after man found unconscious in city centre

A man has been found in an unconscious state after being assaulted in Derry city centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the man was found in William Street/Waterloo Place on Tuesday evening.

“Shortly before 7.30pm a 20 -yr-old male was found lying unconscious on William Street with cuts to his face. Police believe the male had been assaulted and are appealing for witnesses,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

She added:”Anyone who was in the area on William Street or Waterloo Place between 7.30pm and 7.50pm on Tuesday evening and may have some information regarding this attack is asked to contact Police at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000.”
