Police appeal to public after horse found with leg injury

Police are asking for the public to help them find out how a horse was left with a deep cut to its front leg.

A PSNI spokeswoman says the horse’s owner discovered the injury on August 12 and the wound was treated by a vet.

“The five year-old piebald mare is being kept in a field in the Steelstown area, however its condition is not improving,” she says.

Anyone with information about how the horse sustained its injury is asked to contact police at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
