Police arrest two men in Derry over attempted murder of PSNI officer in Dungiven

Two men have been arrested in Derry following the attempted murder of a part time police officer in Dungiven last month.

The suspects, aged 36 and 44, were arrested in the city on Friday and have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

The pair are also being questioned on suspicion of involvement in three assaults involving firearms that occurred in the Creggan area of the city earlier this year.

An explosive device was left at the officer’s home near Dungiven in April and was attached to a container of flammable liquid.
