Police in Derry have urged people to report any incidents of domestic abuse involving partners behaving violently when the European Championships are on over the next month.

Euro 2024 kicks off in Germany on Friday.

“Will family tensions be high during the Euros? Does your partner get wound up watching the football? If your anxiety is building because they behave unpredictably or violently when the football is on, we are here for you. Call us on 101, or 999 in an emergency,” police in Derry said.
