Police investigate suspicious approach to 8 year old girl

Police in Derry are appealing for information following the report of a suspicious approach to an 8 year old girl in the Ballymagroarty area of Derry.

“It was reported that at approximately 2.50pm, a white van with three men on board approached an 8 year old girl,” a PSNI spokesman says.

“One man from the van approached the girl and grabbed her arm but she broke free and ran way. The man that approached the girl is described as being in his 20s, approximately 5’11” tall, of a tanned complexion and with discoloured teeth. He was described as wearing a white tracksuit top, blue jeans and brown shoes.”

He says the girl was not injured but was left badly shaken by the incident.
