Police seize drugs haul in Derry


Police in Derry have seuzed a haul of drugs and cash.

Herbal cannabis and Ecstasy tablets were among drugs items seized on Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan said drugs to a total value of more than £1,500 and £1,500 in cash were seized in an operation by the G District Crime Team at Northland Road.

Two men aged 25 and 27 are currently in custody at Strand Road station assisting with enquiries regarding a number of alleged drugs offences. A third male, 25 years, was arrested at the house on suspicion of possession of herbal cannabis and released on bail to attend Strand Road at a later date.
