PSNI: Police urge vigilance after spate of thefts


Police are investigating reports of thefts from cars across the city over the weekend.

At about 2.30pm on Saturday, police received a report that a purse had been stolen from a car at the William Street car park.

Shortly after 7pm on Saturday, a report was received that a wallet was stolen from a car at the Crescent Link Retail Park.

At about 8.30pm on Sunday, December 20, the theft of a bag from a car at Drumlerry in the Culmore area was reported

On Monday morning, 21st it was reported that children’s toys were stolen from the boot of a car at Glenabbey Cottages, Galliagh.

Inspector Les Craig urged local motorists not to leave valuables in unattended cars.

“When you leave your car, always take wallets, purses and handbags with you – and lock the vehicle.”
