PSNI used stop and search on 25,195 people in Northern Ireland last year during lockdown - here’s what you need to know

We may have been staying indoors more than often but it didn’t stop thousands of people being stopped and searched across Derry City & Strabane last year

Official figures from the Police Service of Northern Ireland shows that more than 25,000 people were stopped and searched during 2020 – a rate of 13 per 1,000 people.

Despite Covid restrictions this was a 5% decrease in comparison to 2019’s figures.
