The man who cannot be named to protect the identity of his two alleged victims appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He was charged with 22 counts of rape, two attempted rapes and seven sexual assaults.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on dates between December 30 2007 and January 1 2011.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and the man said he did not wish to call any evidence or make any statement at this stage. He was released on his own bail and returned for trial to the Crown Court on May 19.
