Robbers armed with wheel brace threaten Rosemount shop staff

Staff at a Rosemount newsagents were threatened with a wheel brace during an armed robbery on Saturday evening.

Two men entered the shop at 8.40pm and demanded money.

They then made off with a sum of cash in the direction of Upper Nassau Street.

No-one was injured during the incident.

The first man was described as being approximately 5’11” tall, of slim build and was wearing a light grey hooded top and light grey tracksuit bottoms.

The second man was described as being approximately 5’7” tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top.

Detectives investigating the incident have asked anyone with information to contact them at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously via ‘Crimestoppers’ on 0800 555 111.

There has been a spate of armed robberies at local businesses in the Derry area over the past month.
