A teenager who kicked a woman in the head is to be sentenced next month.
Erin Dalzell, of Strand Road, pleaded guilty to common assault on September 11.
Derry Magistrates Court heard police were called to Envy Nightclub to a report of two females fighting.
When they arrived the injured party was ‘having a panic attack and had blood coming from her mouth and nose’.
CCTV of the incident was obtained and 19-year-old Dalzell admitted kicking the woman in the head.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said his client was not the initial aggressor in this incident.
He told the court the injured party had grabbed Dalzell by the hair and they had a fight.
District Judge Barney
McElholm adjourned sentencing for a probation pre-sentence report,
He said he accepts ‘there was a background to this’ but ‘kicking someone in the head is not good’.
Dalzell will appear in court again on January 16.
