Suspended sentence for disorderly

A man who kicked someone in the head during an incident in the city centre has received a suspended sentence.

Conor Costello, of Earhart Park, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on March 29 last.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard the injured party did not make a statement of complaint to police and that was why the 20-year-old faces a charge of disorderly behaviour.

District Judge Barney McElholm suspended a three month sentence for two years.

He also fined Costello £150 and warned him if he came back before the court ‘the starting point will be three months’.
