Teen loses teeth in Galliagh hoodie gang attack

Police have launched an investigation into an assault in the Galliagh area of the city in which a youth lost his two front teeth.

The PSNI are appealing for information about the episode, which occurred in the Fergleen Park area of the estate.

Constable Reynolds, the investigating officer, said: “Police received a report of a male having been assaulted in the area of Fergleen Park on Friday.

“This assault resulted in the loss of this male’s two front teeth.

“The youth, who is aged 16, was walking through Fergleen Park at about 10.30pm when he was attacked by a group of three males aged 15 to 17 wearing track bottoms and hooded tops.

“Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any relevant information to contact them on 101, alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
