A teenager has appeared in court accused of an arson attack on a former car showroom.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, is charged with arson of the former car showroom owned by Bobby Mullan.

He is further charged with burglary with intent to steal and criminal damage.

The charges relate to an alleged incident on February 7.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court she believed she could connect the teen to the charges.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said his client has made full admissions.

There was no application for bail and the teen was remanded in custody to appear in court again via videolink on Thursday.
