Thieves steal five lambs from Dungiven farm

Thieves have stolen five lambs from a field in the Hill Head Road area of Dungiven.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Constable Mailey said: “It was reported that sometime between 8.30am on October 26 and 8.30am on October 27, forced entry was gained to a field containing a number of livestock. Tyre marks left at the scene would indicate that a vehicle was used to transport the lambs away from the location. The lambs can be identified by red markings to the neck and back.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information or to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or to anyone who may be offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact Constable Mailey at Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting 257 on 27/10/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
